Canadians (possibly others too) wear them to honour our vets at Remembrance Day. It symbolizes the poppies in the poem, written by a Canadian physician during the first World War, that applegrove posted in this OP:

after releasing his recommendations today. He thinks veterans and 'old geezers' who are dependending on benefits, are selfish and veterans who did serve their country once are not serving it now by taking those benefits.

I hope Bowles goes with him and we never hear from either of them again.

4. Ive always really liked him.
He has a great, dry sense of humor. And he's liberal, or at least moderate, on social issues. For example, he's pro-choice.

he probably couldn't even exist in todays republican party. He'd get primaried by a tea partier.

5. Give it an extra jab for me
That elitist old fuck needs to go out and dig ditches for 8 hours a day for a couple of weeks and then consider what it would cost those of us who didn't sit on our asses at desks all our lives to raise the retirement age.

After all, we poor slobs on the bottom who had to do heavy work for a living do NOT have that extended lifespan soft pink men like Simpson will get.
