I was at Kroger's Tuesday and, as I passed by the pharmacy, I heard an elderly woman turning down her $75 prescription, because if she paid that amount she would not be able to buy her groceries. And now our government, Dems and repubs alike, want to cut Social Security. I don't know what goes through our politicians' minds sometimes. Are they all sociopaths? How these people, that "we the people" elected, can be so heartless when it comes to 97% of the population, and then act as though the top 3% deserve anything that they want, amazes me.

I'm about ready to give up on our government. The wealthy have become gods in this country and the rest of us are just an inconvenience to them all. I wonder how inconvenient we could really be to them if we stopped spending any more that absolutely necessary. If we stopped using our credit cards, switched to credit unions, bought used items instead of new, and refused to get in any debt that would cause us to pay interest. I see a big backlash against banks and Wall Street coming. It's already here, to a small degree, but I see it coming in a much bigger way. We are tired of being taken advantage of and going without while the super wealthy get all the breaks while having to decide whether to buy the big yacht or the smaller yacht.

you really believe their total screwups were made whole, with no interruption of massive bonusses with no loss to the taxpayer/average citizen?

My one-month supply of asthma meds cost roughly my entire month's grocery bill. I'm able to buy one (about $60.00) but not the other (just under $300.00). I used to be able to slip across the border and buy them but it's become so dangerous in the border towns I'm afraid to go there anymore. For the record, here are the cost comparisons U.S. vs. Mexico: Proventil is approx. $60.00 in the U.S. is $12.00 in Mexico. Advair is just under $300.00 in the U.S. and is $40.00 in Mexico.
