Watch this incredible video of Murrah High School (Jackson, Mississippi) basketball coach Marlon Dorsey, allegedly whipping a player with a weightlifting belt during practice. Jackson Public Schools officials are investigating the incident.

6. I have seen shit like this at various times of my life. Stuff like this happens because....

...humanity is really just little groups of people thrown together in little groups. All of humanity, ever, is just little groups of people. And people who recognize this can do (and get away with) some pretty god-awful things as long as the members of that small group comply.

My little rule covers everything from hazing to religious cults to child abuse.

Take a look at the little groups you might be a part of. Examine the dynamic. We, all of us, belong to several if not dozens of these little groups, participating during the week, the month, as we live our lives. We all need to examine the health of the little groups we're a part of because if we don't, we're opening ourselves (and those we love) up to potentially very dangerous situations.

Sounds like this coach has a severe need to "win", and needs anger management, etc. Amazing to me that some parents were aware of this and not doing anything to stop it. Kudos to the dad who stepped forward.
