A modest ultmatium to the Republicans re: the tax cuts for the rich
I thought about it all day, and I thought of something that would make some logical sense:

The Republicans has to agree by the end of this year to end both wars by the July 2011 deadline and begin preparations to withdraw all troops from Iraq and Afghanistan, leaving both countries 100%, then they can have their tax cuts. If they don't want it, then the tax cut will expire and nothing that the Rethugs can do at this point - they only own 0% of the legislature right now. They can hem and haw all they want, but they aren't going anywhere with a big sacrifice on their part and it's about fucking time too.

The tax cuts has to be taken out from somewhere, and my suggestion si where the biggest waste of money is - the wars.

1. Not enough.
It would have to be accompanied by the closure of all foreign bases, the withdrawal of our military to within our borders, and the military budget cut at least 75%.

I think they'd prefer to pay their taxes. They're all scared little weenies who think they need an empire to keep them safe. While that might be true, they're the ones who need to start paying for it.

2. We don't need their agreement to do that, we can do that ourselves, today.
No dice. We own the wars, they couldn't end if they wanted to until they take over the House and then only by defunding.

3. I agree with your intent but those with considerable wealth can or already have moved it out of the
US to avoid taxes.

Even then their overseas wealth is protected by Presidents and Congress using our military power to enforce negotiations forced on weaker nations by our Secretary of State, Secretary of Commerce, et al.

Are import taxes the only way to tax such wealth?
