The President says one thing, critics claim he's really saying something different
It's a pattern from the administration's critics that's caught a wave and is catching on fast. Take what the President says and attach your own biased snippet which 'proves' he's a sell out, DLC/Centrist, or, a member of the Bildenburg group. Don't miss an opportunity!

1. Bigtree, you didn't miss an opportunity to attack him during the Primaries
Former Obama supporters like me bent over to reach out to you based on what we believed at the time.

I don't even recognize you now.

4. this is our Democratic President
It should be easy to recognize me. I'm a Democrat. I'm going to continue to support this president through his second term.

If I do criticize him, I'm going to do my best to be accurate and truthful. If I'm not, I expect someone here will call me on it.

24. Yep, it got vaporized and very sad that is. What's the use of calling this underground anymore?

I didn't attack Bigtree, I told him how I, as a former enthusiastic Obama supporter who reached out to him when he couldn't stand Obama, feel now. WTF.

If you don't think he is looking at some kind of extension then I'm jealous of your optimism.

but for the purposes of our discussions here . . . I'm interested in accuracy, especially where our President and party are concerned.

6. So certain are you?
I'll bet you a $10 donation to DU that before the year is over, President Obama signs a "temporary" extension of all tax cuts, even those to the most affluent, and damn the added expense.

Come on. Ten bucks. You could make me eat my words. DU would benefit. And you could gloat for months. Whaddya say?

14. That's obviously my position
And I've seen quite a number of folks taking the exact opposite position, that the administration is no how, no way going to cave in, and there's nothing in the public comments by any of the administration mouthpieces to justify that, and anybody who says otherwise is just spouting bilgewater and is part of the Chicken Little Brigade.

So, for those who are so 100% certain that the administration isn't caving in and recent comments aren't just the first flakings of loose pebbles that signal the imminent landslide, here's their chance to support DU, get a star (as I'll make the donation in their name), and feed me my smug, arrogant opinion in easily digestible bite-size pieces.

If I win, it's still $10 to DU, but in my name with someone else carrying the freight.

17. So he DIDN'T say he wasn't willing to make the top 2% cuts PERMANENT?
And that he wants to pass the middle-class cuts?

Those weren't the EXACT two statements he made?

INTELLIGENT people make inferences from that.

NAFTA, DADT, Honduras, health care reform, now the Bush tax cuts and what remains of our social safety net.

21. I've noticed that most perpetual Obama critics have much of their facts wrong. It isn't that it is
impossible to have a valid criticism of Obama. It is that almost all of the criticisms I see are based in fantasy, as opposed to fact. When people consistently write fact-free criticisms even after being called on it, perhaps they should re-examine the assumptions they are using.

27. Talk is cheap, actions speak louder then words.
And I just LOVE (not) how progressives attack other progressives who DARE critique OUR POTUS. AS IF, we should all be just like the Bush Bots out there and STFU and say nothing while the country gets plundered by big business.

Right...not buying it, thanks. :hi:
