Why doesn't Fox News fire Beck Glenn? Read this..
Why Fox News fear to fire Beck Glenn, unlike CNN and MSNBC done to Sanchez and another..

The Anti-Defamation League has condemned Glenn Beck for his recent attacks on liberal billionaire George Soros. In particular, the ADL condemned Beck's comments about Soros' actions and experiences during the Holocaust, saying that they were "offensive" and "horrific."
-----

Before that summary, however, Beck talked about the experiences that Soros, who is Jewish and lived through the Holocaust, had during his childhood in Nazi-controlled Eastern Europe. He said that Soros had, essentially, collaborated with the Nazis:
" 14 years old, he had to help the government confiscate the land of his fellow Jewish friends neighbors. He didn't grow up in a very Jewish household. His mother was a strong anti-Semite -- his words, not mine -- but when he had to go over and take the lands from the people...who were being sent to the gas chambers, I can't imagine what that would do to a teenager, anybody, an adult. Well, what did it do to George Soros? In an interview with Steve Kroft, Soros was asked if he felt guilt at all about taking the property from the Jews as a teenager. He responded, 'no.' He also said, 'I don't deny the Jews their right to a national existence, but I don't want to be a part of it.'"

6. No, the folly is to think that all things are always what they appear to be
The fact is that a very strong argument could be made that media outlets like FOX News serve a far greater purpose for wealthy elites. The role of Fox News is to be a propaganda platform. The fact that it makes money is simply icing on the cake. Their role is to lie, misdirect, omit and skew the news to fit the whims and wishes of small group of wealthy individuals and mega-corporations that benefit from an ill-informed populace.

Don't believe me? One shining example is the Washington Times newspaper. The paper has lost money for years yet it still presents a right wing slant on the news each and every day.

20. I DO believe that. If Fox wasn't raking in the ratings/advertising revenue with
their crap, they'd change their format.

13. Class warfare
if you are informed, like yourself, you know that money rules but if you say it it is "class warfare" which is their admitting that you are right.

What the rightwing does is wrap themselves in "ideals" "beliefs" and "principles" was take the focus away from money. Anyone who mentions that there is no way to make a profit from owning an aircraft carrier or that socilaizing stem cell research reduces corporate costs is screamed at as class warfare....and the rest of the media follows along- 'cause it's good for bidness.

he'd better watch out. Soros will squash Beck like the filthy disease-ridden cockroach that he is.

8. I agree with you totally about Beck, but not for the same reason
I'm slowly but surely finding myself becoming offended with the overuse of the term "anti-Semitism". It is not because I believe it doesn't exist, but because it has become vastly overused to the point of being a cover-up to debate. YES there was a time 70 years ago when it was very appropriate. Fast forward to 2010 and it is not at all appropriate. I see the Muslims and others (us average Americans for example) today as the Jews of 70 years ago. We need to keep pressure on a society that is egalitarian for all.

12. Glenn Beck is the mega-guru of stupidity and ignorance.
Edited on Thu Nov-11-10 07:07 PM by Rex
He can't deny it when every night he calls Obama either a 'nazi' or a 'commie' and NEVER even thinks about the fact that they ARE NOT THE SAME THING!!! We live in a country that loves the most uneducated backward jackass to be seen in decades. He will say the over-the-top bullshit on air and without remorse. That makes money and keep the bills paid.

I doubt he even cares about what he says, the money is flowing in! Why worry about being correct or even remotely accurate?

For Glenn, life is a circus and if someone gets hurt by his words oh well.

He doesn't care.

ADL's Foxman Condemns Glenn Beck

MJ Rosenberg
Senior Foreign Policy Fellow, Media Matters Action Network

.... I misjudged Abe Foxman of the Anti-Defamation League.

I did not expect him to condemn Glenn Beck's three part series on George Soros and Jews which resembles something out of the Third Reich. I thought Foxman avoided criticism of the right, especially given his friendship with Rupert Murdoch. I was wrong.

I am not saying Beck is anti-Semitic. I think he is so utterly ignorant of Jewish history and the history of Germany 1933-1945 that he is unaware of what he is doing. ....

And, if you can take it, here is Media Matters' analysis of the anti-Semitic tropes employed by Beck. (In a lovely touch, the first show was on Kristallnacht).

Thanks to the ADL, the Glenn Beck era will likely end sooner than expected.

Last point: A German friend told me that Beck's series on Soros would have been illegal in Germany. Since 1945, it is illegal to use Nazi images and themes "especially to malign Jews, let alone a Holocaust survivor. It is illegal to be cavalier about Hitler. And Beck is, almost every day. In Germany, his Kristallnacht show would probably have led him to prison."

Germans, for some reason, take Nazism seriously.

18. Crazy talk has consequences -- Beck should absolutely be fired
Edited on Thu Nov-11-10 08:17 PM by Kievan Rus
The racist, paranoid cop-killer in Pittsburgh that Beck convinced that Obama was going to take all of his guns away and believed that the cops that were coming to his house responding to a domestic dispute in April 2009 were going to confiscate all his guns as part of said nonexistent "Obama gun ban."

The whacko in California that tried to shoot up the Tides Center because Beck went on and on about how awful they were.

I'm sure there's more incidents of violence that Beck is partially responsible for, but those two are the most prominent ones that come right to mind at this moment.
