Couple the tax cuts with an unemployment extension for all, including 99ers.

They could extend the all tax cuts for a year and extend unemployment for another 99 weeks or until national unemployment goes below 8% whichever comes first.

Just a thought.

1. The cost of paying for that unemployment would guarantee a
filibuster by Republicans in the Senate that Dmeocrats could not break. It won't get done.

I think actuall extending the tax cuds for the under a quarter milion crowd will be really dificult, even if they do get it by a temporary extension of the tax cuts for thr wealthy.

3. But we won't be able to afford the tax cuts for the deserving rich
if we keep subsidizing those lazy scoundrels on unemployment--not to mention all those socially useless geezers sucking up all those Social Security and Medicare dollars.
