Also hilarious because someone on Keith Olbermann tonight was pointing out that

A Repug "lame duck" Congress -- totally rejected by public which did NOT want

impeachment of Clinton .... nonetheless impeached Clinton!


This would really be funny except for the reality that so many Americans have been hurt by

right wing destruction and so urgently needed a DEMOCRATIC president to put things right --

MEDICARE FOR ALL -- PROTECTING SOCIAL SECURITY and MEDICARE --


A return to justice --

What we've had a return to is simply more injustice and more destruction -- !!

1. He should have insisted on a Stim II package as a trade off.

The GOP would give up their mothers to get the Bush tax cuts extended for the wealthy. Why give it up before they even take office? If you're going to be a politician, be a politician.

3. Why give the GOP anything .... ??? Evidently economists told Obama Stimulus was only 1/4 of

what was needed --

IMO, records will show this was a depression .... and as far as I can

see we are still in great danger --

The bailouts by Bush/Obama were the largest financial coup d'etat ever pulled off --

Our total debt from Revolutionary War to 1990's was 12 TRILLION --

Then -- in 18 months of bail outs = $12 TRILLION --


Bail outs and sold outs --

Public has been sold out -- !!

4. In order to pass a second stim package.

I agree the stim package was only 1/4 of what was needed. I'm saying that if he's going to cave on the Bush tax cuts for the wealthy, he should at least get another stim package passed as a trade off. Do you foresee any way he could get the GOP House to pass another stim package without giving them something big they want?

He gave it away for nothing.

Did you reflect at all on the size of the Bail outs and where all that money is?????

6. I favor retaining all the tax cuts except for the very top.

I opposed the bailouts. These guys preach free market, but when the free market Angel of Death knocks on their door, they run to the government to save them. The plug should have been pulled on the big banks and AIG in 2008.

I favor jobs programs and infra structure projects to rebuild America, with all products and labor used for such projects American made.

11. Agree with you ... all the way --

One way to end democracy quickly is to bankrupt the Treasury and they're

fairly well on their way to doing it! And they're still warmongering for an attack on Iran.

We'd better find some way soon to gain leverage over this --

8. It's as if his primary objective is to make them like him.

If I thought any of his concessions were politically smart, I would understand. I always understand a politician compromising to help reassure reelection. I don't understand his sabotaging his own reelection, however.

9. I believe he's following Clinton's playbook. Not sure that's gonna work in

in a horrible economy. Clinton won re-election but his recovery act from 1993 was showing results and people had jobs.

10. I agree entirely. Clinton had a much better economy.

Clinton made some missteps his first two years, but he was pushing for progressive changes. The economy was not sickly, the way this one is. Any economy with over 9% unemployment is on the ropes, in spite of the recovery ongoing.

I felt that unemployment would have had to drop below 9% by September for Democrats to have a chance to hold the House. That's why I advocated for a stim II package, an infra structure package and a related jobs program for the past year plus.

When the president fell for the deficit reduction push, I knew we were probably going to lose the House. His failing to rebuke that meant he had tied his hands on a new stim package. The first one was effective, but far too small.
