Interesting video - Some questions

Are old age survivor dependents (parents of eligible children) still included? I had not heard about that feature before.

Interesting how the 1.5%/1.5% withholdings has grown to 6.2%/6.2% withholdings. After depletion of Trust Fund, current projections say about 60-70% of defined benefit will be paid which would require upping the percentages or getting income from somewhere else (removal of cap, additional growth of wages without inflation etc).

Roosevelt is talking about unemployment being included in the original law. Was that later stripped out? Anyone know.

Of course it states 65, the age is now 67 and, if the Catfood Commission gets its way, 69.

No need to go to the office anymore to sign up for a card. Your new born baby gets signed up for his/her Social Security card in the hospital.

I found it interesting when I visited the Social Security office to have S.S. checks sent to an account I set up for my grandma. It was behind an armored door with an armed guard patrolling outside the door.

They need to do a better job about teaching about the Social Security law in High School. I know I got absolutely no exposure when I was in High School. I am going to be sure that my children understand the law very well.

4. "They need to do a better job...teaching about social security...in school."
I agree 100%. I think back when I attended school we weren't taught anything about it except of its existence.
