...2.....Two months for a DOCTORS office to Issue A Refund....


......on a over charge of $90.00.....REASON....because their billing department has many layers a refund has to go through including s a layer in INDIA...

...I demanded they just pay me out of petty cash at the Doctors office but they wont.... I'm pissed....that is $90.00 of less buying power for me...

i think it usually does take me about 2 months, sometimes they don't even tell me i'm due a refund until the next visit (which has been as much as 12 months later) and then they just say, "oh yeah, we owe you $25" (or whatever)

my last refund was about $200, and i think it took about 3 months to get the check, i had to file some complaint paperwork to prove my case, but it was a clearcut case of the insurance company just stealing the money, so i don't fault the docs...they're kind of caught in the middle...

perhaps i should not have paid the incorrect bill in the first place, so i wouldn't have to worry about chasing down the refund, but i felt i had to go ahead and pay, you can't really yell and argue w. medical people or at least i can't...

2. Then just explain for the next bill they give you, there are many layers payment has to go thru
Should take about 2 months. See what they say then.

4. 11...Eleven months for an insurance company to issue me a payment...
for healthcare I provided...on a charge of $50....REASON....because first the "didn't receive" the bill, then denied it since it was a Medicare suppliment, then needed a denial letter from Medicare even though the Medicare webpage specifically denies my type of service, then it was beyond "normal filing time", then they decided that since I'd filed within a month of service immediately that it was ok and to send it back to modifications. Still waiting.

I'm pissed because that is $50 less of buying power for me.

6. I had an anesthesia group bill me NINE MONTHS later for services.
And they billed the wrong code/procedure. I wrote a letter to the CEO and told him that I knew the difference between my throat (gastro...) and my ass (colonoscopy) and it's too bad they didn't.

I wrote the dr who did the procedure and told him the same shit. Said I'd use another dr if he continued to use this anesthesia group.

I got a call from the CFO recently who wrote off the co-pay as a 'billing error.' Saved face but I got my message across.

8. you probably signed a financial agreement with them...
giving them the rights to do whatever they want. It can take a long time to resolve and it stinks.
