The pilot controls the plane. So what's the point of nudiescanning the pilot?

2. Well, technically there's a pilot and a co-pilot.

If either of them goes nuts and tries to crash the plane, generally the other will be there to take control or fight them.

However, if one of them went nuts and had a weapon, the other one wouldn't be able to take control of the plane. Thus, you scan them to make sure they're not bringing weapons on board the plane.

Every flight deck is equipped with a crash axe, which is intended to be used as a means of escape in the event of a crash.

Clearly the whole TSA charade is nothing more than security theatre, intended to placate the passengers. Pilots now have the choice of being nudie-scanned at least every day (and their unions are starting to object because the health effects of getting scanned so often are not yet known), or of being groped and fondled in public. And yet once they get to the airplane they have that bad-ass axe.
