We all know there are many kinds of schools.
Our "moderates" are likely to be the standard 2-3 story Midwest brick school...not very daring , rigid in rules & regs and mostly no nonsense, but willing to go along to get along
Our "conservatives" might be the small local small one-of-each level school in the town for the poorer folks..and the "academy" for the wealthier ones. Everyone knows everyone else's "dirt" and has each other's "back".
Then we have the teabag people...they are the strip mall storefront Jesus schools. They know they are right and there is no convincing them otherwise. They will blow themselves up, in order to punish an evildoer.
The "Liberals" could be the free-spirited home-schooled-according-to-proclivities or maybe a school where more than "book-larnin" is valued.
DC is the Big Magilla... The Oxford/The Harvard/The Yale/The Cambridge/The MIT..(you get the idea)
Like Elementary feeds into Middle & then into High School, ALL of the variations of "schools" feed into DC, because that's where the real action is.
Most of the "not-liberal" ones fear, loathe & despise the "Big DC School" and do little else besides trash-talking about how evil it is, how they would change it, fix it, or tame it.
They ALL seem to want to go there, even though , if you listen to their own words, it's the worst place on earth. So they trek to DC, with all their school-glory still stuck to them, eager to be the BMOC (or BWOC).
What they find when they get there is this..
It's a School CLUB..a fancy Money-Club, and it's not for "everyone".
Your "school" may have trained you and sent you there, because it's in the "rulebook", but once there, you have to play by a whole bunch of OTHER rules.. The rules you have to play by now, are written by the big-wigs in the Money Club.
You may have been Head Cheerleader, President of Student Council, Captain of the Football team, but once you get to the Big School, all that is not important anymore.
If you are successful, you cut the strings to/from your hometown "school", except for the occasional trip home, so they can bask in your glory and give you money so you can stay in the Money Club. Your expertise in the Money Club could tweak your conscience a bit, and you might throw the locals some crumbs from time to time.
If you are unsuccessful, you are forced out of the Money Club and sent back home, where you once again start the trash-talking and to raise more cash so you can try to get back into the Club.
