even if the reason for the story was horrid. I loved that these children who were put through so much at such a young age turned out so well.

This was part of a fundamental change in the way this country treated all minorities. I have to give kudos to the preacher who started it all. A strong man. I am the same age as these ladies, and since there were racial mixes already in our school in our small town, I would not have understood what the big deal was.

or just your everyday garden variety red-necks. Since the sixties they've pretty much been at the fringe -- but it's really scary now that we have them as sitting congressmen and senators.
