please help with my next editorial..."Buy American"
Edited on Fri Nov-12-10 09:26 PM by w8liftinglady
I can tell the wordage is not right...brain malfunctioning...any suggestions for spelling, grammer, content are appreciated

As the holiday season approaches, we are faced with a grim reality. There are fewer and fewer things actually made in America anymore. Yet, we still have some good options available to support American made products and American jobs. As you prepare for the holidays, consider putting a little extra effort into "Shopping American". Here are some suggestions.

First, try locally owned and handmade items. Waxahachie is fortunate in that there are many craftsmen/women here. Try to ensure that the craft/tool was made from American-made resources.

There are several good online websites for "Made in America" products.

1. Still Made in The USA is an online network of made-in-America products for Men,Women,Kids, home and pets

http://www.stillmadeinusa.com/

2.The Union Shop has products made by American union workers for men, women, children, home and vehicles using all American ingredients.

http://www.theunionshop.org/

3.Americans Working has a huge online resource for American made products....even skateboards!

http://www.americansworking.com/

4.Made In USA Forever has another large resource of American-made products for every need.

http://madeinusaforever.com/

The benefits of buying from these resources are three-fold.
First, your purchase helps keep a business open and an American employed. Second, the ingredients, safety and security of the product can be easily resourced. And,third, you will get some great things that will last much longer than imported items.

This holiday,do yourself and others a big favor...buy American first. Our country depends on you.

3. What a great idea at the perfect time. I love it.
Suggestion: Instead of "As the holiday season approaches,a reality has taken place." How about something like "As the holiday season approaches, we are faced with a grim reality." That line is just uncomfortable to read as is.

You go for it.

5. I like it. Suggest inserting a positive lead in to your list, though.
Maybe something along this line?

 It's a good message, at the right time.

9. Buy union! I don't care what country it's made in so long as the workers are organized.

I won't buy a car made in Alabama at some non-union operation such as Mercedes in Vance, Honda in Lincoln and Hyundai in Montgomery, Alabama.

I'd sooner buy a Volkswagen made by German auto workers.
