I wish we could retire the N-word.
Rush Limbaugh brought it into vogue in 1992 when he used it as a suffix to mean "extremist".

It was amusingly attached to a noun on "Seinfeld" to describe someone who was aggressively and needlessly strict.

Now in 2010, it's everywhere. The right uses it to describe Obama. The left uses it to describe Bush and Cheney.

I've seen it attached to "food", "grammar", "pet", "beer", and "shoe".

It's use today has almost nothing to do with historical context; it is now bandied about so much as to be utterly meaningless for anything other than a generalized insult.

It has become a clichés, and like all clichés, it doesn't deepen or amplify meaning - it just acts as some sort of lazy, witless shorthand.

It's just so played out! Can we really do no better at expressing ourselves than this?

Please consider purging it from your vocabulary except to describe the Nationalsozialistische Deutsche Arbeiterpartei or any of their bona fide sympathizers and emulators.

Hilarious parody of Inglorious Basterds. But then again those really are Nazis.

7. Nope. Not Nazism.
It's xenophobia.
It's racism.
It's vile.

It's even dangerous.

But it's not Nazism.
