1. I wonder about some of the wording

and just how the poll questions were asked. Seems that they were a bit too broad.

That I support across-the-board tax cuts for all taxpayers - up to their first 250,000 of income. I wonder how that option would poll. I'll bet it would fare a lot higher than "middle-class tax cuts." Why do we always get sucked into the republicans' framing???
