Selling to the highest bidder? The days of FDR are behind us and the Gilded Age a memory (but not a lesson) but what has happened to us since? People like Whitman and McMahon believing that money alone can buy position. People like me who might fold when offered an obscene amount of money for a vote? After all, I'm just a single vote and a single vote won't count for much, right?

Corporate personhood has taken a new and even more diabolical turn with the recent Supreme Court decision and our "Chamber of Commerce" has turned away from commerce in America now serves only the idea of profit for a very small percentage of Americans. Now money, essentially from anywhere or anyone can buy an election.

We won't take to the streets as it would cost too much personal money and might damage future monies, we won't stand up and be counted as a dissenter because Rupert Murdock's engine might roll over us. I threw it all on the line back in the 60's and 70's to state my opposition to the war and Nixon and we eventually won our battle and I never thought I would have to go there again.

I don't think we are a nation of whores... Yet. But there are many. Many who need the money to keep a roof over their head and food in their children's bellies. I feel we've been played.

I feel it's time to raise the price to the point that it's not practical to try and buy elections through money and media.
