To be a great president, Obama should not seek reelection in 2012
This is an opinion piece from the Washington Post.

http://www.washingtonpost.com/wp-dyn/content/article/2010/11/12/AR2010111202846.html

They claim (among other complete misreadings from Obama's first two years) that Obama needs to be more inclusive of Republicans and independents in his governing style, and that Obama has "lost credibility" among Republicans and independents.

First, I have to ask - when did Obama ever actually HAVE credibility among Republicans? The vicious socialism and hate-at-all-cost crap was in full force even before the election. Republican intransigence and obstructionism has only intensified since the election. This is not caused in any way by Obama. It's caused by right-wing bags.

As for Obama bringing Repubs and indy's "into the fold" - WTF do they think all of the health care law compromise was about? How about Obama's out and out endorsement and continuation of Bush's national security strategy? Just how the fuck is that ignoring Republicans? Democratic leaders took HUNDREDS of Republican amendments and additions into the health bill that made it to the final vote. All Repubs voted agaisnt it anyway.

The runaway mythology that Obama has been running roughshod over Republicans and it is his fault that he has "lost he consent of the governed" must be countered in every way possible. It is not Obama's leadership that lost the consent of the governed; it is the relentless right-wing noise machine that did it.

2. You do know that this was written by two Fox News paid "Democrats", right?
It's nothing more than pure right wing trash, designed for people on the left who are dissatisfied with President Obama.

It's called "Propaganda".

3. It may be propoganda.
But I think they are right, though for entirely different reasons.

He's failed at passing his agenda, entirely because he did not beat the GOP over the head and force the Blue Dog scumbags into line. And now he's gonna spend the second half of his presidency fighting off the attempts by the GOP to dismantle his agenda.

Get a real progressive with a pair of balls, and do it now while the Tea Party guys are tearing up the GOP from inside, and we can make sure Obama's successor is a Democrat and one who will work for the people who got him elected - US.

5. So, you're advocating the Fox News viewpoint?

"Give up, Obama! Give up! Your two measly years have been for naught!"

Sounds like Darth Vader pleading with Luke Skywalker to give in and join the Dark Side.

On Edit: It was Emperor Palplatine who extended the invitation to Luke to come on over to the Dark Side...Gotta keep my Star Wars references straight.

13. And when the next President similarly fails to pass the agenda you want, are you then going to
Edited on Sun Nov-14-10 07:31 AM by BzaDem
finally admit that the President has no power to "force the Blue Dog scumbags into line," and that the power to pass a legislative agenda is held almost entirely by Congress?

Or will it take a 3rd or 4th or 5th President who fails to pass your preferred agenda to drill the point into you?

In other words, how many proofs that you are wrong do you need to see before you admit that you are wrong?

18. Yes...And They Are...
Just look at the last election results. A majority of the voters handed the House back to the corrupt and inept hacks who created this economic mess in the first place. If that's not stuck on stupid then nothing is.

11. People wonder why Obama has to compromise or work with Republicans.
Because he has to deal with this crap 24/7. And if you don't think it could get worse if he followed your non-compromising plan of attack, think again. This is mild compared to the shitstorm that would ensue.

16. Bad application of reverse psychology.
Memo to Obama detractors: You want him to have one term? Then run a candidate who can garner (legitimately) more votes. Think that's going to be easy (or inexpensive)?
