How is it a compromise to pass temporary tax cuts for the wealthy to replace
Temporary tax cuts for the wealthy? Remember these tax cuts were temporary that is why they have to be re-newed. It is a good thing temporary tax cuts aren't harmful for our economic well being...Just fine to compromise on such a small point...Democrats have already lost any credibility they might have had.. Those taxes imposed by Clinton spurred America on to enjoy the "Greatest Economic Expansion in History" and they were imposed during a severe recession which Republicans said could not be done..We have already given up our credibility by buying into that argument. Even those cuts for the middle class should be eliminated until we get our financial house in order...Republicans have won this one and IMO they will win every single roung because no one will stand up and say they LIE..

1. cuts
Tax cuts need to be permanent across the board. OIh and BTW both sides LIE. They are politicians so by default they lie.

12. Without tax cuts employers can't create jobs !
Oh, wait, they have had those tax cuts for a long time already... so where are those jobs?

Let the Bush tax cuts expire... it's the fiscally responsible thing to do.

2. they should just let them all 'sunset' and when the republicans accuse them of
raising taxes they can say, no YOU raised taxes. you set them up to 'sunset' so that's what they did. blame yourself if you want to call it a tax increase. besides, what about that deficit you are all so concerned about. this would help bring that down wouldn't it? can't have it both ways.

6. That strategy requires a media willing to report it the way you want.
Unfortunately, we don't. Proof is in the puddin'. The US MSM refers to the sunsetting of the cuts as "raising taxes".

How can Dems demonstrate a strident and principled position when there's no media to report it? Proof is in the puddin'. The US MSM calls the sunsetting of the cuts "raising taxes".

14. He doesn't have to pass anything. It will expire.
If an extension gets out of the House, it can die in the Senate. If he gets out of the Senate, he can veto it. Do you think he will?
