Cat-Feeding ban opposition to turnout to Bellaire city (TX) council meeting
CAT-FEEDING BAN OPPOSITION TO TURN OUT TO BELLAIRE CITY COUNCIL MEETING

BELLAIRE, TX — Dozens of opponents to a proposed feeding ban that would harm the city’s cats are expected to demonstrate their opposition at a Bellaire city council meeting Monday, November 15.

“Feeding bans for cats are not only cruel – they are totally ineffective,” said Becky Robinson, president of Alley Cat Allies. “Studies show they don’t work to keep cats away. In fact, they increase calls to animal control by encouraging the cats to roam further and to scavenge in garbage cans and dumpsters.”

“Feeding bans also create obstacles to carrying out Trap-Neuter-Return, the only humane and effective course of action for feral cats,” Robinson said. “These bans force people who manage feral cat colonies or connect caregivers with services like low-cost spay/neuter to operate in secrecy.”

5. Rule of unforeseen consequences.
Right before the Bubonic Plague/black death hit Europe...there were burnings/killings of witches and "their cats" all over Europe.

6. well, they didn't know/understand what caused the plague
but the dummies in Bellaire should be able to foresee the rise in the rodent population if this ordinance goes into effect.

2. Here's what I would do if there was a feeding ban in my county:

Feed the cats.

Get ticketed.

Feed the cats some more.

Get fined.

Continue to feed the cats.

Get arrested.

Keep feeding the cats.

Fuck stupid Americans who manage to get elected.

4. Perhaps if they had an enlightenend no-kill shelter...or some TNR support...this would
even be a point of discussion.

Thank goodness for Alley Cat Allies...
