So...
1. Obama is a Democrat.

2. I'm still happy he is the President.

3. He will be the nominee in 2012.

DU is eating itself again. Must be a Sunday.

6. K & R = People need to get an accurate bead on what we're actually up against here.
This pretty much details it for me:

http://www.huffingtonpost.com/anis-shivani/the-prince-and-the-pauper_b_782881.html

We need to USE Obama to get ourselves strong to fight the actual problem that is described in this article. That makes our whole thing about timing right now and fracturing things too soon will only result in a loss of critical mass. Which is pretty much where we're headed at this point.

"Cutting our noses off to spite Obama's face" isn't going to get us shit.

17. 1. So are a shit load of Reagan worshipers. 2. He's better than the apparent options but may prove
worse than a four year mission with Captain McShame and Sargent Stoopid for the long term. A Republican wouldn't be elected Dogcatcher on a Alabama military for at least two generations after the massive clusterfucking we'd have with that crew. I'm a 100% confident we'd have a better time with re-destricting and extremist nutjobs would generally not be remotely viable.

No question the epic scale clusterfucking might dig a more massive hole but it is more than just possible McCain's advisers would have steered him into very similar policies. Obama didn't do anything that most conservatives disagreed with, McShame voted for TARP. Bush extended unemployment.

The Republicans are using a tactic to clearly differentiate themselves and rile up their base in reaction to losing power. Obama is chasing them to the Reich because they refuse to play the DLC endgame and are forced to either be more contrary and extreme or move to the left which they have demonized for generations. Just look at the deficit commission situation and how it went down, they had their longest ambitions in hand and dropped seven or eight co-sponsors to the exact bill and conditions they wanted just to be in opposition to Obama who adopted their exact position and let them drive.

Now he forced the damn thing and will bring the heat the Republicans have long sought on his and our heads.

3. He has well earned a primary challenge from the Democratic wing of the Democratic party. Perhaps there will be none or perhaps he will prevail but he has proven to not even approximate my views nor has he demonstrated the leadership to move this country from the abyss.

Even if Obama runs and is elected, it could be worse than running and losing and letting the Rethuglicans get the blame for FUBARing the country.
