Republicans don't break the law! When was the last time you saw a Republican actually serve time for committing a crime? Hell, Ken Lay, thanks to his breathtakingly fortuitous mortality, wasn't even guilty of what he was found guilty of! Scooter Libby served less time than the college kid nailed for hacking Bill O'Reilley's site. Republicans don't have to answer for their crimes. None of the Bush administration lackeys even had to answer to a court for blowing off congressional subpoenas.

There are two systems of courts in this country, and folks like Mr. Cantor aren't subject to the law the same way you and I are.

The courts really need to reverse the priorities of the justice system to one where those such as sworn elected officials and public servants (DAs, Judges, LE, etc) need to be held to the highest gold standard of behavior. When they break the law it is extraordinarily damaging to our country as it diminishes the respect that all Americans have for our institution of government. They need to serve sentences for one strike that are far more severe.

Eric Cantor needs to spend years in jail and the nobody who lives in poverty from podunk who shoplifted a loaf of bread needs pardoned.
