The other day I read a piece were some solider was on his 12th deployment. 12.

What I want to know is, if these rich people won't put their blood on the line, then how about their goddamned money.

Why don't we see some of these people admitting they don't need a goddamned tax extension and just forgo it. Also, why the fuck don't some establishment Democrats in Washington put this same question to these people?

2. This defies all logic
Although the mega corporations are included in the group of 2% and undoubtedly don't care about America, the individual wealthier Americans making over 250K do likely care about the nation's fiscal health. This is a suicidal idea and everyone knows it, regardless of income group. This is plain politics without regard to responsible governing. It is astonishing, knowing the spending cuts that are being recommended which will most definitely affect the lower income people the most. It is insane.

4. Wish there was a way to reach these wealthy people....

to see what they're DOING, if anything, about this issue that is now front and center.

5. A very few of the ultra rich DO risk their own blood - John Walton, yes of the WalMart
Waltons, enlisted in the Army and became a Special Forces Medic in Vietnam. He saved many lives, won a Silver Star and Army Commendation Medal among other awards. He was killed in a flying accident in 2005.

I have trouble with blanket accusations, even on the ultra rich, but I also have trouble finding many more like John T. Walton as a good example.
He was a real individual.

6. How many here have actually put anything on the line?
I know there are a few but many like myself can not claim any self-righteous podium based on sacrifice

9. The idea of sacrifice has totally disappeared. I once went onto a conservative
forum and asked them what they had been asked to sacrifice during this time of war. They got all confused. It hadn't occurred to them to give something up to 'get' something. Bill Maher was right in his new rules this week.
