1. Yes, I noted that, too. McCain is a bully, no doubt. And the pic is frightening.

14. I saw that photo at HuffPo on an article about what McCain said on Meet The Press
but I didn't see anything in the article that said the photo was taken recently.
Confused ;(

12. A) he has some dirt on her too keep her married to him OR B) as
with a friend of mine "her money" comes from her martial status. Her grandfather created a trust that gives the family members an Allowance of the inhertiance each month. (the ture fortune is still growing due to investments and companies this is the interests) Boys get a flat 4000 a month if they are married or single. girls -single gets 2000 a month and if married 4000 a month

My friend has remained single angry at the arangement. She gave most of it to charity each month and lived on 1/3rd of it + her job income but when the economy was bad and unemployment became so high she quit her job just so 2 others at her place of employment could keep thiers. She now lives off the inheritance but she still gives whenever and where she can after taking care of her basics.

27. She tried at one time. but it just made too many waves with the family
she just figure she'll just gut it out. She tries to be but she will be blushing reading what you said. She believes in that saying "Taxes are the prices we pay for a civilized society." She has to give and she tries.

8. I recognize that look, I recognize the "I'm tired of being tromped on"
and made to look and feel like a fool. I've always thought that "carpal" bandage in a sling she wore during his campaign was the result of an angry POS like him berating her and she talked back and he twisted her arm. He would be careful where he damaged. Of course she should throw him out but none of us knows what the real story is between them. I notice we have not seen the adopted daughter in ages, more of his doing I'm sure. He is a nasty arrogrant, smug POS and I can only pray for her. She is both mentally and physically abused IMO, I recognize the stance and the look, the sadness, and the fear.

11. +1. I see it, too.
I think Cindy McCain is a decent person, and shows every sign of being a battered wife - if not physically, certainly emotionally.

17. I agree.
I always thought she looked abused.

It's very difficult for those women to escape the psychological/emotional/financial prisons their men build around them. I saw it when I volunteered to help battered women.

19. Yes...He reportedly called her that on a campaign bus
in some election before 2008.

I can't believe she took that...I would have ROARED back, demanding an apology and threatening a press conference if he didn't.

I've heard that they actually don't live together...Which is a good thing for her, at least.

What a Piece of Shit he is..

28. That is the absolute worse insult to call a woman. When I lived in England, that word was used
often--for men and women--and I hated it then. It's an awful word. I hate it!

29. Thanks for your support on that...
I understand that it's used frequently in England and that they're somewhat surprised at the generally more negative American
attitude.

Did you ever talk to them about that, or you're particular distaste for the word?

22. After one debate he walked right by her, not bothering even to
look at her, much less hug or kiss her, as is standard for pols after such debates. He seldom looks at her or touches her--or acknowledges her at all--when they are in public together.

24. Oh for goodness sakes....
Can't a person just have an "off" day anymore?

I don't always smile in photos. Sometimes I don't feel well. Sometimes I'm worried about one of my children, or I'm deep in thought.

Whatever John McCain has said or done to his wife in the past, I don't think people can (or should) judge her mental state by her expression in that photo...

sigh...
