1. It's funny, that's exactly how I felt after I did, too.
I was like, "Well, I realize it's much more difficult than that, and that there are all sorts of give-and-take, and..."

And then I was like, "No, it really isn't that difficult. Fuckin' guy."

2. It's difficult if all you care about it staying in office.
If you suck it up and do the right thing for the country......

well, never mind, neither of us is in office.

3. That was easy. And I did it without cutting Social Security, health care, or jobs.

8. Me, too
The only way I "touched" Social Security was to raise the cap on FICA assessments.

I got the rest of the savings mostly through military budget cuts, cancellation of the Bush tax cuts, and reverting other taxes to Clinton-era levels.

4. John Bolton said now is the wrong time to pull troops from Afghanistan
with the Taliban "whispering in Karzai's ear".

He and General Dynamics make such a cute couple.

OP, I agree with you on a bunch, but not the alternate inflation measure, and not every military cut.

6. I ended up with surpluses
A 126 billion surplus by 2015 and a 738 billion surplus in 2030. 49% of the savings was from tax increases and 51% was from spending cuts.

7. If the media is accurate, I can solve the entire National Debt.
Edited on Sun Nov-14-10 11:56 PM by RandomThoughts
They reported there was 600 trillion in some of the extravagant markets, mostly 600 trillion of dollars that really was created out of nothing.

Wipe out 12 trillion of it, and move it to pay the debt.

Really such money is not in circulation, it is parked in places to claim ownership of things so that profit can be skimmed off of work, and since it was created out of nothing, why not just appropriate it to correct the mistake of massive debt that was created to move money to people with assets.

If it is not true that there is 600 trillion in that market they mentioned, then what else is not true?

From a movie "Dog Soldiers"
"I will not shoot the dog for no reason!" I believe in that actually.

"Think about it Cooper, Up until today you believed there was a line between myth and reality, might be a pretty fine line sometimes, but at least there was a line, those things out there are real, if they are real, what else is real, you know what lives in the shadows now, you might never get another nights sleep as long as you live."

"I am going to make it through this, you know why? I don't scare that easy" :)

Side note, I am still due beer and travel money and many experiences.

9. Actually, I found the task to be quite difficult as the social spending cuts were too draconian...
and the non-regressive tax increases and military cuts offered were too modest.

15. SS surpluses help fund the govt.
As long as the SS Trust Fund doesn't need to be drawned upon to cover obligations, SS will have no impact on the deficit.

12. Heres mine...

As a child of military veterns, I made sure to keep their benefits because those are mine too...until I turn 26 in about 5 years. However some of those options just weren't right. I know that the choices are not easy but they can be done. It took me 10 minutes to figure it out. Sometimes I wish the people could vote on bills popular vote style.
