It is a particular thing about the US Political system... if you do not like one side, you are forced to vote for the other, even if you don't like them either. It is the only way to do this...

But this is not going to end well...

After all the triangulation will lead to the END of many things we have fought for, or best case weakening... and that will only increase... the anger...

4. By design, winner takes all, the system defaults

to TWO parties that will get power back and forth. Until that IS changed... will require a Constitutional Amendment, that is the way it is. Any other vote is a protest vote with few chances of making a real difference. This is basic poli sci 101 material.

Voting third party IS by definition a protest vote in the US There are VERY FEW examples of this not being the case, MOSTLY in local, NON PARTISAN elections.

many third party votes that merely ended up helping one or the other party get ahead. I do not remember any third party winning. But they sure can help someone lose. The results are still the same - we end up paying for it.
