America’s Leader
in Partnership Corrections
Welcome to CCA, the nation’s leading provider of correctional solutions to federal, state and local government.

Our company – the first of its kind – was founded in 1983. Our approach to public-private partnership in corrections combines the cost savings and innovation of business with the strict guidelines and consistent oversight of government. This has produced proven results for more than a quarter-century.

CCA designs, builds, manages and operates correctional facilities and detention centers on behalf of the Federal Bureau of Prisons, Immigration and Customs Enforcement, the United States Marshals Service, nearly half of all states and nearly a dozen counties across the country.

Faith-Based Success
Magdalene Visit Brings Meaning and Motivation to Otter Creek Offenders
As the song “God Blessed the Broken Road” rang out on the recreation yard at Otter Creek Correctional Center, the air was filled with more than just the sound of vocals and instruments – it was also infused with the spirit of hope for incarcerated women now aware of a full, healthy future within their grasp.

A concert featuring Grammy Award-winning songwriter Marcus Hummon and Mercury recording artist Julie Roberts closed a highly spirited, day-long visit of 10 representatives from Magdalene in September.

The CCA-supported organization is based in Nashville and helps female ex-offenders overcome addiction and start their lives anew. Founded in 1997, Magdalene offers a two-year residential program and serves as a safe haven where women can build healthy lives in a community environment. More than 100 women have graduated from the program since its inception.

For more than 25 years, Corrections Corporation of America (CCA) has brought satisfying careers and new opportunities to small communities, mid-sized metropolitan areas and major cities across the nation. We are proud to be the United States’ largest and leading partnership corrections provider to federal, state and local governments. Because of our proven record, CCA is continually entrusted to keep communities safe and securely house thousands of inmates on behalf of respected corrections agencies.

CCA is proud of our record as a strong partner to local communities. More than 17,500 proud CCA employees have made our company their professional home, and our 65 prisons, jails and detention centers enrich local economies of all types. With CCA, America’s hardworking taxpayers and partnering governments benefit with needed jobs, the best in corrections services at the most competitive cost and solid community partnership.

Community Participation

At CCA, we recognize that we have a responsibility to communities. We are often one of the largest employers in a community, and we actively participate in local business and civic life. Our employees volunteer their time and raise funds for charitable causes and nonprofit organizations. Giving back to communities that have given so much to CCA is rooted in our company culture. It’s the way we work.

6. Incarceration should be the sole domain of government, privatized for profit prisons can
only lead to disaster for the American People.

The concept of profiting from imprisoning the people is immoral bordering on evil.

As these for profit prisons grow in power and wealth so will their ability to lobby/bribe the peoples' representatives to pass ever increasing draconian laws against the people, as America is dragged into the worst visages of a police state. Ultimately if not eliminated this will be the new form of slavery.

For profit prisons' motivation; just as any other business is the same, maximize profits, and for them that means more prisoners = more profit, this is a one direction dynamic and anyone believing such an industry could be greasing the palms of your elected representatives to give the American People a more just, free and compassionate society is seriously deluding them self.

Thanks for the thread, lonestarnot.

8. I'm screaming now but if they ever did come for me, I would see no reason to stop then, because it
isn't about any individual.

This is about a grotesque dysfunctional system which in the long term threatens most everybody in the same way that for profit health insurance has grown to threaten health care and for profit mercenaries growing to threaten the publics' military.

All three of those leech systems are illogical and ultimately corrupting to the nation.
