Glen Beck is simply an evangelist preacher with a new angle.
I was watching him just now and realized he was using exactly the same techniques of crowd persuasion as evangelist preachers.
The rhythm of his speech, hand and body gestures, all are carefully choreographed to elicit an emotional response.
He doesn't preach God's message, at least not directly, he preaches the Founding Father's message. They are the surrogates for God.
Instead of preaching that you will go to hell if you follow the devil, he preaches that the USA and democracy will be destroyed if you follow the evil liberals, unions and communists. Surrogates for the devil.
Beck scares people into following his directives exactly the same as preachers do.
When he talks about his book he forcefully orders you to buy it and tells you is is essential to your understanding the hidden dangers that are enveloping your world.
Like all evangelists he uses his persuasive powers to dig money out of your pockets.

It's no wonder that the same people who are intensely swayed by evangelists are also swayed by Beck.
He uses the same authoritative language and style that they are familiar with and associate with blind faith in protection and salvation.
They have developed a Pavlovian-like submissive response to this kind of pretentious display and unquestioningly believe whatever they hear.
It is similar to a hypnotist's performance when hypnotizing an audience. It is a form of mind control.

But it's dangerous too.
Evangelist congregations rarely turn away from their leaders. A web of seductive rhetoric envelops them and many would blindly follow it to the death, as the Jim Jones cult demonstrated.
This means that it may be impossible for many of Beck's followers to break away from his inflammatory lies and bizarrely irrational view of the world.
He is implanting a seriously paranoid mindset into a large portion of the American public and once it's fixed in there, it may never be removed.

1. Beck, Palin and alike are Charlatans and nothing more
just part of the noise machine designed to mislead the masses into fighting amongst themselves while the rich get away with murder and worse.

2. "He is implanting", well, I would say he has implanted it, & I get an uneasy feeling just seeing him
talk for a few seconds. I don't know how anyone could stomach him for 30-60 minutes (however long he's on a day). He comes across as someone... well, someone who's troubled.

3. No, it's more than that.
Religious zeal is meant to maintain the status quo. Beck's rhetoric is of a destabilizing kind, more akin to the speeches you would see in the Klan--imminent threats and the ruin of all unless action is taken.

4. Beck's always reminded me of Elmer Gantry.
