Prince William engaged to Kate Middleton
http://today.msnbc.msn.com/id/40211277/ns/today-today_people/

Prince William is engaged to long-time girlfriend Kate Middleton, spokesmen for the monarchy announced Tuesday.

The pair will marry in the spring or summer of 2011, a statement from Clarence House, the prince's official residence, said.

The price, second in line to the throne, proposed during an October vacation to Kenya, the statement said.

"Prince William has informed The Queen and other close members of his family," the statement said. "Prince William has also sought the permission of Miss Middleton's father."

1. Good for them.
Flawed as she was, I have always admired his mother, and her charitable efforts. I think her children are a reflection of what was best about her. I wish them well.

2. Both flighty, shallow, and lazy.
They rather deserve each other.

6. Lazy?
William enrolled in the military. He was commissioned as a lieutenant in the Blues and Royals regiment of the Household Cavalry – serving with his brother Prince Harry and,<2> two years later, earned his wings by completing pilot training at Royal Air Force College Cranwell.<3> In 2009, the Prince transferred to the Royal Air Force, was promoted to flight lieutenant and underwent helicopter flying training with the aim of becoming a full time pilot with the Search and Rescue Force.<4><5> As of 2010, he has completed his generic helicopter training and is now at RAF Valley's Search and Rescue Training Unit receiving training on the Sea King search and rescue helicopter.

Seems like a pretty good role model to me.

8. I guess you don't read of all his vacations.....
and drunken escapades. It's rather funny.

Role model? Not really.

10. I'm not pro-monarchy but I wouldn't call William lazy
He has done military service, and works a lot for charitable causes.

I think he'd be a better king than his father would; but I'm not quite sure why we need any sort of monarch in the 21st century!

3. I was wondering about the article and checked it out and then found it had been updated about 7:30.
An hour later than the above poster posted. I'm assuming the poster copy and pasted because prince in the 3rd sentence above is spelled price while the article now appears to show prince. So maybe they corrected their mistake?

5. If they have any kids, then Prince Harry probably doesn't get to be king.
Great gig for Prince Harry either way.

7. Vacation to Kenya eh? Perhaps the good prince should show us his birth certificate...

Soon our world will be ran by a cabal of illuminati with fake Kenyan birth certificates. They will put us non-Kenyans all into FEMA camps so they can run marathons without the hassle of having to pass all the slow people.
