Pretty decent, and a fairly progressive person, though not as much as he could be.
He voted against the Iraq War and is generally one of the more liberal Democrats out there. Of course, this district is pretty blue, so that's expected.
He's also chair of the House Democratic Caucus.
Strangely, for someone as progressive as him, he's a member of the New Democrat Coalition, along with every CT representative besides DeLauro.
I remember him going to town hall meetings back around '07 or so where he faced a lot of people asking him to support Bush's impeachment. He responded with something like "You want Cheney?". These people replied "Impeach him too!". In the end, he didn't support impeachment.
