Quite honestly, I thought the reporter in this story whose daughter was tormented was far calmer and more accepting of the situation than he should have been. Yes, it was a few days later, he'd had time to digest the experience and he was trying to be as professional as possible for the news story, but I'd still be furious. You DON'T DO THAT to a 3-year old (or a 4-year old, in our case). You just don't.

Last time I flew, the TSA clown running the x-ray machine was approximately 147 years old with coke-bottle glasses. He had to squint like he was reading the fine print on a credit card application, and it was taking him 3-4 times as long to screen packages. I probably could have had a flamethrower in my carry on, and he wouldn't have noticed. If anyone thinks anything the TSA does is keeping you safe, you're a fool.

By the way, my wife has flown with clearly-labeled Mace over 75 times since 9/11. I'm a mountain climber / skier, and I've flown with ice axe blades in my carry on, as well as other sharp gear that could easily kill someone. No one has ever said a word or even noticed.

Anyone defending groping little kids is the kind of person who reflexively defends authoritarian behavior no matter the issue.

Wake up. Under the new guidelines, if you refuse the full body "naked" scanner, you automatically get your genitals fondled. The same is true if they pick up anything weird in the "naked" scanner OR if the older metal detectors go off twice.

The child was only searched because the metal detector went off twice.

Depending on how old the video was, she may or may not have been molested by the TSA agent. Under the current guidelines, she most definitely would have been fondled.
