Poll question: Was Marion Jones Truthful On the Daily Show Last Night About Her "Performance-Enhancing Drugs"?

Always thought she was a class-act and was shocked when the revelations about her "PED" scandal came out and that she actually had to serve time in prison.

Just curious about what you guys think...

1. what did she say?When we were training back then...

it was not uncommon for us to use performance-enhancing drugs...many were still over the counter,easy to get...and expected among high-level athletes(granted,I was a weightlifter,but similar backgrounds)

3. She said (and I believed her) that the drugs were given to her without her knowledge.

She believed that her coaching team and support staff was giving her supplements that were ok with US Track & Field and the IOC.

4. That's possible.When Muscular Development was a true athletic magazine

she had an article.her knowledge of supplements required pre-and post workout was outstanding.

also,you have to remember a lot of prohormones were perfectly legal(buy them at walmart)
There was a lot of science that went into training.She probably was trying to do the right thing.
I knew EXACTLY what I was doing...and did it anyway.

5. Wow, that was quite some time ago.

Muscular Development (yes, I do read and enjoy parts of it) is almost cover to cover steroids now. They make no apologies for it, which I also like. Unlike some mags that were allegedly anti-steroids yet sold M1T in multiple ads and had Ronnie Coleman on every other page (cuz he'd never touch the stuff).

2. She owes her whole career to the late Johnnie Cochran restoring her eligibility...

thanks to some legal maneuvering. She was a fraud from the beginning.

9. spin baby spin.. she's selling a book..

NO pro/olympic athlete is "unaware" of substances they are putting into their bodies..

She should have just said she was caught up in winning at any cost, and thought she could get away with it..and then said she was sorry for lying & had served her sentence..

She's still trying to be a martyr.
