Just had horrible dream: Gingrich dead

I dreamt I was scrolling down the list of Democratic Underground "greatest posts", in that elastic time, delusional way it always happens in dreams. Than, with 12 recommandations, there was one entitled: Newt Gingrich dies.

And there was a horrible sense of fear in me when I read that. Not because I ever liked Mr Gingrich. Not because I agree with his politics (bland opportunism has never been my favourite), but because I realised that years and years after disgracing himself, he has managed to retain enough influence to be the subject of some such article. The kind of articles with quotes: "he was planning a 2012 presidential run". The kind of article with quotes that would beatify his over-partisan attacks on Bill Clinton as "principled opposition".

And the worst part was: I felt dull inside, not bracing myself for the kind of nonsense that praises a Devil into Heaven. I felt like I was at primary school, when the other children gathered round me to kick me around: come on, kick me, get it over with, I've felt it all before.

Make of it what you will. I just had to share.

1. Wow, what a disturbing and consequential dream...

Thanks for sharing this with us. That said, I guess I hope that he lives a good long time... ;)

BTW, several weeks before the election, I started receiving e-mails from Newt Gingrich, no joke, that ended up in my spam folder. Apparently, he was sending out messages to the party faithful, trying to get out the vote. *sigh* Why I would suddenly be getting these, I have no idea, since I think I receive messages from every Democratic, progressive and liberal organization on the planet... :shrug:

When Mr Gingrich sends out automated mailings (to further the magnitude of his "faithfull base"): Living in Red Sate + Reveives Political E-mails = Probable Republican.

3. I had a horrible dream.

Really, I just woke up. I was in the basement parking area of a large building and there were a lot of disabled people down there and it was flooding, so some people were starting to drown because they couldn't swim. I was helping one person and that was all I could do. It was a building that was familiar to me because I used to work there.

I've got a feeling Mr Freud and/ or Mr Jung would have had a field day with us two.

5. I just had a horrible dream.

I dreamed that all the progressive Democrats were elected, which created to majority in both houses and the executive branch, and they did nothing for progressives. Wait. That wasn't a dream.
