Florida woman fined for dyeing dog's feet pink
Jacksonville, FL - A dog owner in Florida has received a ridiculous fine from animal control. Christine Hill received a $255 fine for dyeing her poodle's feet pink for Halloween.
Hill bought the dye online -- a dye specifically made for pets. A dye that is applied like a shampoo. A dye that simply washes out over time.
Apparently, there is a law on the books in both the city and the state that prohibits owners from dyeing their pet's fur. How many people would know that this law even exists? Could the animal control officer perhaps have offered up a warning?
"Oh, perhaps you didn't know that there is a silly law on our books that prohibits dog owners from dyeing their pet's feet pink, so next year, buy a ridiculous costume from the pet store and make your dog wear that instead. I'm letting you off with a warning this time."
