Couple Puts Abortion Decision Up to Internet Vote
Edited on Thu Nov-18-10 12:55 PM by FedUpWithIt All
They say that they are not considering the end vote binding so obviously this is a gimmick, their claims of seriousness aside. I find it distasteful and worry what type of precedent this might set. There is always an element of society that roves the depths and i am afraid this may snowball.

What do you think?

And the Birth or Not site complete with ultrasound images of the fetus. Poll vote is currently for abortion.

2. I say if they're going to make a decision like this via a popular vote...
they shouldn't be parents.

5. I don't see a problem with it
Chances are it's some sort of social experiment, but whatever it is it is their choice to do what they want concerning their pregnancy.

6. And when the anti-choice folks win this poll they'll think it's some sort of mandate on abortion
Mind you, these are the same people that will spend 2 hours a night submitting emails to DWTS so that a crappy dancer like Bristol Palin can stay in the contest.

7. It amazes me that these kinds of gimmicks still get attention. Which movie, senior art project,
book or game will these be a promotion for?

8. I call bullshit
No one who is really considering an abortion goes much past 8-10 weeks unless it is for therapeutic reasons, such as the mother's health or a birth defect.

The earlier an abortion is provided the safer it is, because earlier abortions are less complicated. Therefore, it is important that women who decide to get abortions can do so without unnecessary delays. In fact, 88% of all abortions in the United States are obtained within the first 12-13 weeks after the last menstrual period (LMP).

I think it is a couple trying to get publicity for the "pro-life" crowd and make pro-choice people look bad.
