I would like to say this about the video game

Call of Duty which according to reports is obviously the most video popular game...this is what I tell my grandson when he sees the display requests the game..My answer "NO"..My explanation, .War is not a game..For the 4000 or so brave servicemen that lost their lives in Iraq and for those that lost their lives in Afghanistan it was not a game..Nothing,as far I am concerned,can justify marketing a war game to kids period.
But it means big profits for the company that market this product and its shameful.

The INDUSTRY is actually far more responsive to this than other places, like the movie theater.

war..Parents are irresponsible for buying this game...I imagine though the parents that buy these games for their kids are those that could use some parenting classes..there I said it.

Average age of people playing video games is well into the 30s these days.

2. To be fair

Call of Duty isn't like Medal of Honor in that it glorifies war. CoD has had a definite anti-war undertone ever since Modern Warfare.

but that 4000 number is just a footnote in the history of war. Approximately that many Americans DIED on 9-17-1862 alone at Antietam.



and 50-70 MILLION people died in WW2. Making war a game is not constructive.

Call of Duty as a whole has had compelling storylines (which DON'T glorify war at all) and excellent character development. People CAN appreciate video games as an art. You just have to be able to separate games from reality.
