Michelle Bachmann's Very Bad Choice: Extending Tax Cuts for the Rich While Ending Unemployment Insurance for the Jobless

In the real world, there are millions of people out of work and getting by on an average unemployment benefit of $293 a week. And there are millionaires, who receive about $110,000 a year from the Bush tax cuts.

But where others see millions of unemployed people, Rep. Michelle Bachmann (R-Minn.) sees "new massive spending." And where others see the top 2 percent of earners, with incomes of $200,000 and much higher, Rep. Bachmann, in a recent Good Morning America interview, sees "carpet layers who maybe employ two or three other guys, or a plumber, maybe himself and his brother."

Federal Unemployment Insurance will expire on November 30. It provides a lifeline to people who exhaust their 26 weeks of state unemployment benefits and still cannot find work. There are a lot of people who have been out of work that long -- more than 40 percent of all the unemployed. With only enough job openings for one-fifth of the jobless, it's not a surprise that people have to search for a long time to find work.

6. One-Sided Class War..........
"Those that have" have all the ammunition, politicians and the media, "those who don't" have just a voice, but are too busy to use it and rush to the barricades, because Dancing With the Fake-Ass Stars is on.

10. Get all those unemployed in her district
That this will affect, and have the pick in front of her house on Thanksgiving day. Let the media know when they get there, and demand her to explain why it's OK for rich people to get billions in tax cuts without finding a way to pay for it, but the unemployed can't get extensions unless they are PAID for!
