How WRONG they were about how things turned out?

Or is it just me?

1. Might not just be you but it's not me
I have trouble remembering who posted what on here yesterday.

Let alone a couple years ago.

2. I just bookmark the thread. Look at it occasionally then laugh.
Because you know they remember what they said.

6. For the last ten years I have wanted to tell the guy
who wrote the books about the disaster awaiting us with Y2K he really got it wrong. Of course he made plenty of money. There was also a doctor here in town who took his family and moved to the Alabama border in a trailer where they could survive without power. I wonder if he is back at Vanderbilt or what happened to him.

8. His wife probably divorced him.
The ex and the kids may be living in a nice home now while he's stuck in a trailer near the Alabama border.

9. If it were up to me the Archives would be an active forum...
where you could kick anything from the past back up. You'd still have GD and LBN, and threads from those would go into the Archives after a week, where they would remain live, rather than locked. The forum display would be set to always show the original post date. I'd also program it such that, at that point, you could only respond directly to the OP (or to new posts), but not to the posts from the first week's discussion on a thread (so as to preserve that in its original form and show evolving thinking about an issue over time).

10. John Kerry's a wasted vote
and anyone in Iowa who caucuses for him is a fool. Dean's got this locked in.

11. Probably bad form to dredge up some thread from the past but I think about it.
There was a thread when oil was peaking around $150 a barrel and I got a really patronizing lecture on why it would go up forever because we were at peak oil and traditional market forces were no longer in play because it was "different" this time.

I happen to remember another DU'er on the same thread who was really vocal about the idea a correction was in the offing because in a bubble it's always "different" (I think it was BBinacan) and he was absolutely correct.
