Teacher 'forced autistic children to run on a treadmill as a punishment for being naughty'
A teacher forced autistic children to run a speeding treadmill at school as a punishment for being naughty, a disciplinary hearing was told today.
Glenda Partridge, 35, is accused of making a cruel example of schoolchildren on the running machine while head of a primary school's autistic unit.
The treadmill ordeal was allegedly one of a series of demeaning punishments Mrs Partridge inflicted on the children.
The hearing was told other punishments included taking food away from children if they misbehaved - and dragging them across the floor by their collars.
