So, after reported lobbying by President Obama, a breakthrough in the Senate on DADT repeal
O'Donnell on MSNBC reporting at least 3 republican Senators will vote for DADT repeal. All they need, he says is the Pentagon report the President initiated which looks to have resolved (the leaked portions) any question legislators might have raised about the 'impact' on troops or recruiting. So much for Levin wanting it stripped from the Defense bill.

All this political movement on DADT might be happening mostly because the polarizing midterm elections are behind us, but reports this week had President Obama calling Senators and urging them to bring the repeal legislation to the floor for a vote. It looks like he (with his Pentagon report and lobbying) has made a positive difference.

3. And this way it won't be subjected to a Supreme Court decision -- He knew
what he was doing all along.

5. Yeah, he's a real genius, that Obama. He cares so much for us gay people we can hardly even feel it.
His concern is so soft and smooth we can barely even notice he gives a fuck.

6. I'm not saying that, and I understand your anger. The ONLY point I'm making
is that when he was fighting the judge's declaration, he explained the only way to PERMANENTLY revoke it was to vote it out, as it had been voted in. Had there been court cases it would likely have wound up in front of the Supremes and then I shudder to think of the outcome.

Do you disagree with that?

And just because we agree with how he handled this particular issue, do you think WE don't want equal rights for every one of you? We do! But this is one area where this will finally be OVER. T

And regardless of how he cares or doesn't care, those of us who do won't give up or stop fighting for you.

4. Could've been done away with last month. Ain't done away with yet.
(And if you think LGBT DU'ers don't sense the insincerity of your "fascination" with LGBT issues, you're tone deaf.) I'm glad that Obama is finally getting the message that he is going to keep losing elections so long as he keeps prevaricating on LGBT issues. He's got to do something for us or he'll continue to be indistinguishable from moderate Republicans on our issues. Hell, moderate Republicans are to the left of him on our issues.

The least he can do is let the soldiers he's having killed and wounded for nothing get their benefits after serving.

7. Yeah, moderate Republicans are great. You'll get 59 Democratic votes and a couple of Republicans.
Then you can praise the Republicans and bash the Democrats. That's fucking brilliant. Join the Log Cabin Republicans. They are wonderful and that is such a receptive crowd over in the Republican Party. They hate Obama too.

Recent developments look good, but this is not over yet.
