TSA groping won't last much longer, and here's why:
Poor people don't fly.
Rich people fly the most.
Rich people will be getting groped.

So it'll stop.

18. Really? They can tell a person's religion just by looking at them?
Doubt it.

If you mean they'll only target darker-skinned people, who everyone knows aren't Christians because they're not White, say it.

3. ... and because the GOP wants to be seen as 'standing for freedoms' ...
... that the 'big government Democrats' don't like, so it will get conveniently overruled by Fat Tony and his crew and portrayed as a victory for the GOP ...

4. One issue - the really, really rich have their own airports.
What, you think they go to O'Hare or DIA or Kennedy or Reagan or LAX?

No, they go to the small airports, with their Learjets waiting for them on the tarmac. The terminals are beautiful works of art that invoke heroes of aviation like Charles Lindbergh and Amelia Earhart. The captain of the plane meets them in the terminal, helps them with the luggage, they step into their gold and leather furnished gulfstreams, have some caviar and champagne, and the only thing the TSA agent will ever do to them is wave to them, greet them by name, maybe small-talk with them about the football game, and wish them a pleasant flight.

They don't fly in our airports, and if they did, they'd go straight to the executive lounge, and things will be arranged for them so they're inexplicably exempted from screening.

5. OTOH, private planes are a trade-off.
Carole Lombard, Buddy Holly, The Big Bopper, Richie Valens, Patsy Kline.

Just sayin' . . .

6. well, commercial jets crash, too
so I don't think that's much of a trade off.

7. Crashes are still very rare.
Edited on Fri Nov-19-10 11:11 AM by backscatter712
I think a lot of the reason why we hear about celebrities in plane crashes isn't because private planes (especially private planes for rich people that are meticulously maintained and flown by the best pilots) are less safe.

I think it's just because they fly a hell of a lot - they fly daily, zip all over the country like we drive to the corner store. They fly hundreds of times a year, which alone makes them more likely to end up in a crash.

But they (and we) are still more likely to die in a car crash. Aviation is the playground for the rich, so it will be kept very safe for them.

They, too, will be getting groped.

with them. Maybe then they will do something about this.

11. Middle class fly, this is another attack on them.
Haven't seen any of the other attacks stop so I doubt this one will either.

15. I fly quite a bit.....
The people that piss me off are the passengers that act like they never heard of any security issues like bottles and clippers and scissors, and things like that. They wait until they are the fifth person back from the scanners and realize that they can't bring half of the shit in their suitcase on the plane with them. This happens every damn time I fly....or morons leave stuff in their pants pockets and have to go through individual screening. I don't condone the pat downs, but people could do a lot more to avoid them.....just saying....
