He is planning a run for president in 2012, and he's been on more national media in the last couple of months (promoting himself and his book) than in his entire political career, I think.

Our only hope is that he'll put his foot in his mouth too many times early in the process, and get written off as a viable candidate.

Don't write off Perry as just another joke repuke. He is custom made for the conservative electorate. They will love him and completely ignore his record. The money boys love him. He's a corporate suck-up and tool in the biggest way. He will raise dump trucks full of cash if he runs.
