Congressional Democrats voted down the first GOP legislative proposal since the midterm elections,U.S. Rep. Doug Lamborn’s (R-Colo.) proposal to strip tax money from the Corporation for Public Broadcasting. Members of the Republican caucus held up the proposal as the kind of tough cost-cutting measure that would mark the new GOP-led Congress. Like bill-sponsor Lamborn, they also made no bones about the ideological satisfaction they would get from attacking the news organization, which they view as a platform for liberal views . . .

they have no clue about that which they speak...they never listen to NPR but they "KNOW" it is an outlet for "liberal" news....ya, right and we are going to have peace and prosperity under their "leadership". NOT.

2. In spite of what many here think of NPR

the repugs see the network as left wing socialism.
Murdock and crowd see it as the last vestige of independent reporting. They will stop at nothing to bring it down in order to establish a complete propagandizing media infrastructure.
