WOODSIDE -- 1960s songbird Joan Baez is "resting comfortably" at an undisclosed location after falling 20 feet to the ground from a treehouse -- a treehouse she purposely had built without walls because she wanted to sleep among real birds at her Woodside, Calif., home.Click to enlarge Joan Baez.

The 69-year-old Baez was climbing down from the platform Wednesday when she plunged to the ground. The San Jose Mercury News reports Baez suffered minor injuries and was treated and released from Stanford Hospital.

1. She just spent one of her nine lives
that is a CODE TRAUMA... just from the mechanism.

She is LUCKY.

2. Man, I hope I'm still climbing trees when I'm 69.
Get well soon, Ms. Baez.

4. I saw her in concert in 2008, and she looked nowhere near 69 - and her voice
is still incredible.

20. I've seen her many times...
I adore her! I'm a metal head at heart, but Joanie amazes me. Most recently, the last couple of years anyway, I've seen her at UCLA's Royce Hall, in San Diego (I can't remember the venue, but it was outdoors at a large seaside hotel), and at The Queen Mary in Long Beach, CA. I wanted to go to Hardly Strictly Bluegrass because she AND Jackie Greene were performing (he's a modern day Dylan) but work got in the way.

I'll not be missing her again! She's precious!

What a talent. I'll be listening to him in the days coming

A modern day Dylan is right on too.

22. My best friend asked me just yesterday who I would like to see in
concert and I said "Joan Baez, before one of us dies". I'm 67 so I think I better hurry up and buy those concert tickets.

and vice-versa.

the joys of senior-hood.

And, as Mr. D said recently: " I remember when waking up stiff was a GOOD thing?".

11. Sleeping with the birds is one thing, but ...
she shouldn't try flying with them.

;-)

But it just goes to show: she should have been a better tree-hugger. ;-)

19. Joan is my idol...
I see her every chance I get, and I celebrate her life, and I applaud her activism, and I adore her for the pacifist she is. She still sings like an angel.

Healing vibes and wishes for a speedy recovery! "Treated and released" sounds like a good sign to me, so I'm going to hold that thought.

I'm an outdoor sleeper too... I would have a treehouse like this if I could. I settle, at the moment, with a bed next to a giant sliding glass door that leads to a third-story balcony. I aspire to fully sleep outside some day.

insert in the sentence " ________ hurt in fall from treehouse"!!!!! That said, all the best to her...I think she's great!

28. Keith Richards...LOL
Keith Richards fell out of a tree a few years back and lived to tell about it. But he was only 62 at the time. Don't know if he would make it at 69.

Get well soon, Sister Joan

not that anyone but a stupid cruel person would say that...Get well, Joanie!
