Are TSA agents changing gloves between gropings?
Edited on Fri Nov-19-10 08:51 PM by Liberal_in_LA
Are they sticking the same glove into underwear all day?

---------------------------------

WASHINGTON — A breast cancer survivor who was asked to remove her prosthesis for inspection. A woman who was “lifted off my heels” by an airport security screener during a groin search. Another woman who says she endured a “criminal sexual assault” by an officer who placed a hand inside her underwear.

----------

In Grand Rapids, Mich., traveler Ella Swift was reduced to tears by a TSA agent after a patdown — which was conducted, the officer said, because she was wearing a skirt.

“The female officer ran her hand up the inside of my leg to my groin and she did it so hard and so rough she lifted me off my heels,” Ms. Swift told local media. “I think I yelped. I was in pain for about an hour afterwards.” :wow:

1. I have the same question
Why are they wearing gloves anyway? If it's to protect them, then I sure as hell don't want to be infected with whatever they think they are protecting themselves from. If it's to protect me, then, again, I don't want to be handled with gloves that were used on the prior passenger.

Just more insanity.

2. I think a number of TSA agents might well cross the line for a number of reasons. I quit
flying cattle cars years ago, fortunately I was able to do that after having flied years for business. I wouldn't go near air travel anymore. It's a gross experience IMO.

3. Standing in lines, I must say, I have never seen them change gloves
Only time I have seen them change gloves is when they start their shift of return from break.

But that is just my observation while trying to appease the varying demands from location to location.

4. It is against the rules for a search to be conducted inside clothing
(except for the waistband) or up a woman's skirt. I hope these travelers file complaints and receive compensation.

5. I don't believe TSA told us what these rules are,
in order to keep terrorists confused.

6. This is from the NYTimes:
http://www.nytimes.com/2010/11/19/business/19security.html?pagewanted=2&sq=TSA%20pat-down%20skirt&st=cse&scp=1

According to information the T.S.A. has shared or published, the airport pat-downs are supposed to be conducted by officers the same sex as the traveler, and passengers can request a private screening and have a traveling companion present during the search. Agents are not permitted to look inside passengers’ underwear or reach inside a skirt, and children 12 and younger are supposed to receive a modified pat-down.
