This is the kind of attacks on civil rights that happened under the Bush Regime.
And its the kind of thing that's still happening under the Obama Administration, except with more ferocity since Holder vs. Humanitarian Law Project. "Liberals" like Kagan advised that material support for terrorism includes speaking to those labeled terrorists, reporting quotes from those labeled terrorists, and even providing legal council.

Three activists are now facing grand jury inquisitions (no lawyers permitted, no pleading the 5th) for union, leftist, and anti-war activity and the information they will be forced to give will lead to assassinations of activists they're working with in other nations. Or they will go to jail for refusing to speak.

By the way, the "terrorists" here these people were talking to are Latin American communist organizations, not jihadists. While I don't agree with the politics of the groups they were talking to, it's irrelevant. Any person who remembers this country before Bush knows that it is above and beyond the call of sanity to put American citizens under grand jury and, likely, prison (after having all of their possessions confiscated by the police to boot) for leftist organizing.

If this was unacceptable under Bush, why does it not warrant more than a shrug under Obama?

3. Well, one thing we know for sure about the FBI
is that it doesn't seem to matter who is in office, they'll go as far as they want to in the area of violating civil liberties and screwing up real cases like the Amerithrax case.

8. If it doesn't matter who is in office that is because
the people in office all give their approval. Remember, the president is their boss. He can fire all of them down the chain of command. Anything they do is his responsibility. He ultimately has to approve of their strategies and plans, or he has to stop them.

5. I'm not happy about it either
I'm very open to a primary challenger for Obama in 2012 - Dean, Grayson, anyone.

The thing that sickens me the most about Obama is having tainted the Democratic party Brand name.

I voted for him on account of his saying he had no DLC ties.

He got the endorsements of people like Dean and Caroline Kennedy as well.

He used "HOPE" as his mantra, and in the end, he has destroyed HOPE.

6. Maybe within the bit of the party that concerns itself with DC but not outside of it at all.
Issue groups are very active. The indy media is struggling in the economy but only about money like everyone else. I think things are moving along pretty well.

Maybe it's a healthy and good thing for people to get local right now.

13. Something happens to people when they get to the White House
I don't know what it is because we never hear about it, but something makes them fearful and I don't think it's just personal fear or fear for their families. And then many come out best friends with their worst enemies. What's that?
