Pink cleats kicker leads team to semifinals - the kid kicked off team for pink shoes
JACKSON, Miss. — The Mississippi high school student kicked off his football team for wearing pink shoes to practice was back with the team Friday contributing to an overtime win that advanced his school to the semifinals in the state playoffs.

Coy Sheppard, a 17-year-old senior kicker, sued Mendenhall High School last month after his coach banished him from the team for wearing pink cleats to practice. Sheppard said he wore the pink cleats, given to him by his great-grandmother, in recognition of Breast Cancer Awareness Month.
