It's starting to look like we're determined to turn Orwell's fiction into prophesy
So our saga ends with a mass sleepwalk into the stockyard? It's hard to believe "proud individualist Americans" would actually trade their freedoms and humanity for the illusion of safety. As the so called War on Terror is essentially un-winnable, know these radical changes to our lives are permanent. Are we really going to do this? Really??? :banghead:

4. Already done - look at the "Homeland Security Agency", the "Patriot Act", and various
allied agencies that have extra-constitutional powers of arrest and detention for nearly any reason they feel is justified...

10. The only thing that
scares me are the really rich white dudes. They've really fucked everything up....pure evil.

Fear can be manipulated....but I can't afford to buy a TV network.

6. There is the rub
We are told that these things need to be done to be safe from the terrorists.
Why attack planes when it is just as easy to attack just the airport, water supply, dams, rivers, buildings,
any place as shown in Israel and the middle east.
And for what, we have given up our freedoms and are no safer.
It is just a bunch of bull.

7. Orwell was wrong.
He didn't predict that we'd all be *willingly* carrying around the cameras.

8. Orwell was writing instruction manuals, not fiction..
If you want a vision of the future, imagine a human face battering a defenseless boot - forever.

11. The word "individual" becomes meaningless when some people have no grasp of their identity.
Or identities.

It becomes hard to keep track.

14. Our country was based on a myth
And most of our history is written to bulk that myth out.

You can't change the truth though. Our country was created by a bunch of rich people who wanted the whole pie, and so we end up at this place again and again, and we ask, "Why?!"

We never rose above ourselves.
