Super Ignorant Quote about Europe by Sarah Palin
Check out this ridiculously insulting quote by Sarah Palin from her new book.

"A European movie might have had Juno get her abortion in the opening scene and then spend the next hour and fifteen minutes smoking cigarettes and pondering the meaning of life. It would have been depressing and boring. Not here. Americans want to be entertained, but we also want to see people do the right thing, even when it's hard and there is no prospect of being rewarded. Hooray for some in Hollywood for occasionally letting us see that."

This is pretty fucking absurd. This woman is a presidential candidate and she views Europe in this ultra stereotypical childish way. I really cant believe this is in her book.

1. Sure. And if Hollywood had done "The Seventh Seal", it would have had giant transforming robots
with a Burger King tie-in.

11. I remember reading that Hollywood wanted to cast Demi Moore as the nurse in 'The English Patient'.
Thank Zeus it was a deal breaker for the author.

As if Bush sitting at a table with world leaders wasn't bad enough. And isn't it telling that she considers "pondering" a subject to be a bad thing?

3. Actually, if the religious right had written "Juno" she would have abstained, and Michael Cera
would have gone straight from church to a night out with his buddies to kick the crap out of some gay kids.

9. religious fundamentalism as world view
Not only insulting as just plain factually wrong. Teen pregnancies and abortions in just about anywhere in the European Union is well below what it is in the U.S.

Palin's world view is made up of fundamentlist religious beliefs with no basis in any known facts.

12. I can. Most of her fans are too poor to travel to Europe
and exhibit a great deal of sour grapes about anything on that continent.

Plus they're stupid, you know.

22. I feel sorry for people who can't travel and see other lands...
and talk to the people who live there. They unfortunately have to get their views about, well, everything, from just the media. :(

Palin's fans are too xenophobic for that.

16. The fact that media outlets continue to legitimize her by breathlessly reporting every utterance she

says makes the US as dumb and foolish in the eyes of Europe..IIRC she hasn't even visited Europe..

19. Classic ploy to unify
one group- to villainize, oversimplify and demonize another group. That is the root of the concept of Satan...the satan was an animal or human whose slaughter magically removed the sins of the rest of the group.

You can't have 'us' without a 'them'.

Of course to the Palinites, we are 'them'...anyhow, it's the same shell game. Sad and lame.

24. She just isn't very bright.
But what she is saying in that quote is quite simply a right wing talking point distorted by her very limited understanding of Europeans.
