Best Friends' take on the Vick article

Best Friends took in 22 of the dogs tortured by Vick and dedicated themselves to healing them inside and out. 5 have been adopted out to date. To those who say that Vick has shown "contrition", here is their experience the situation.

They were interested in some public glad handing that would put Vick in a favorable light with the NFL, which at the time was still considering whether or not to reinstate him. We declined.

Best Friends has never heard from Michael Vick or any of his representatives inquiring after the health or well being of any of the 22 dogs that we received from his fighting ring."

So there is your answer. "His people" had the fucking balls to contact Best Friends and ask them to put in a good word for him with the NFL.

NOT ONE HINT OF CONCERN OR INTEREST IN THE DOGS HE TORTURED.
Now do you get it? NO REMORSE. NO SHAME. NO ACCOUNTABILITY. NOT ONE OUNCE OF EMPATHY, COMPASSION OR CONCERN ABOUT HIS VICTIMS.

he was. I used to really like this duo but now I despise them.

My boyfriend had no idea how horrific Vick's crimes were, he only heard the football fans' version. I wish I didn't have to be the one who told him, it shook him to the core.

I'm always the one who loses it when I hear about animal cruelty, who cannot bear it, who begs him to change the channel and runs from the room.

Not this time.

is that Vick deserves the exact same treatment he had the dogs suffer.

Vick has done nothing to "redeem" himself. Nothing to "atone" for what he is. Nothing to indicate he serious gets it. Until he does, he remains a sociopath, or psychopath, or both. A viscious thug who takes pleasure in torturing and killing innocent beings.

I'm glad his efforts have had a positive impact, but I always felt that his "contriteness" was feigned. This confirms it, IMHO.
